Meet Rebecca Wener, LPCC, MPH: A Bilingual Therapist in Denver, CO
Rebecca Wener, LPC, is a dedicated mental health therapist specializing in working with vulnerable populations. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she provides compassionate, culturally responsive care to her clients in Denver. With a background in public health and clinical counseling, Rebecca is passionate about making therapy accessible and inclusive.
Her unique approach to therapy is deeply empathetic, trauma-informed, and rooted in social justice. She focuses on creating a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and heal. We met as counselors both working at a domestic violence shelter. This clinical setting gave her invaluable experience supporting survivors and those who are marginalized, and she continues to advocate for those in need through her work as a counselor.
As she transitions into a new clinic, Rebecca knew she needed updated branding photography for her bio—photos that reflect her professionalism, approachability, and expertise. That’s where I came in!
Since we had already worked together as counselors, she trusted me to capture her essence as a therapist, and knew how to capture the right message in her shoot. I’ve done a few photoshoots for other counselors and social workers at the clinical site we’d worked at, so when she needed new professional photos for starting at a new clinic, she reached out!
Choosing the Perfect Branding Photoshoot Location: Denver Botanic Gardens
One of the most important aspects of a therapist branding photoshoot is selecting a location that aligns with your professional identity. Rebecca chose the Denver Botanic Gardens for its variety of indoor and outdoor settings, providing diverse backgrounds that would work for her website, social media, and marketing materials.
Even though it was winter transitioning into early spring, we lucked out with a beautiful 60-degree day and clear blue skies. While the gardens were still barren from the season, I had scouted the location the day before to find hidden gem spots that offered beautiful backdrops. After my visit, I used the gardens map to plan out the path we would take to minimize walking and time.
By planning the session in advance, we maximized our one-hour session and captured images at 12 different locations—a testament to the versatility of the Denver Botanic Gardens as a photoshoot venue. Imagine how stunning this location will be in full bloom during the spring and summer!
I always plan photoshoots out in advance so we can get the most out of our time together and you’ll have lots of images to use for your branding, website, and social media! This was considered a mini-session, but a full branding photoshoot includes a planning session where we map out your brand messages, plan the locations/outfits/props, and then I send a pre-shoot guide that includes our itinerary, an outfit list, posing tips to help you prepare, and everything you need to get ready for the shoot!
Anyone who knows me knows I’m always prepared, which makes your brand shoot go smooth!
Outfits and Branding Colors: Creating a Cohesive Look
Rebecca’s outfit choices were intentional and aligned with her brand identity. She wore a jewel-toned monochromatic outfit in rich shades of blue and green, which complemented her fair complexion and dark hair beautifully.
To add a personal touch, she included a handmade pashmina scarf that her mother crafted. This delicate, light-colored accessory provided contrast and versatility, allowing us to create multiple looks within the same shoot. By layering with the scarf, Rebecca had an easy "outfit change" without the need for a full wardrobe swap.
If you're planning a branding session for your therapy practice, consider choosing solid colors over busy patterns. This helps keep the focus on you and ensures your photos look clean and professional across different platforms.
A Personal Connection: Why Rebecca Chose still / space Branding & Photography
Rebecca and I share a special connection—we both worked as counselors at a domestic violence shelter in Denver. Having seen my work capturing professional headshots for therapists in the past, she trusted me to bring out her authentic self in her branding images.
As a trained counselor and photographer specializing in branding for therapists, I understand the nuances of therapy marketing, online presence, and professional branding. My goal is to ensure my clients’ photos reflect their compassion, expertise, and professionalism, helping them connect with the clients they want to serve.
Guiding a First-Time Branding Photoshoot Experience
This was Rebecca’s first professional photoshoot, and like many therapists, she was a bit nervous about being in front of the camera. My approach is always warm, supportive, and tailored to each individual, ensuring every client feels comfortable and confident.
Some key ways I helped Rebecca feel at ease:
Guided Posing: I provided simple, natural direction to enhance her posture and expressions.
Outfit Adjustments: We used the pashmina scarf strategically for multiple looks.
Facial Expression Coaching: We worked on creating the right mix of professional and approachable vibes.
Attention to Details: Since Rebecca is currently undergoing dental treatment and has braces, I made sure to minimize them in photos so she could use the images for years to come.
Every detail of a therapist branding photoshoot is planned with intention, ensuring you walk away with images that truly represent your practice and personality.
